Flying Fox House
Perched above a sweeping bayside view, Flying Fox House by George Banks Architecture unfolds as a layered home that flows with the contours of its sloping site. The design embraces the client’s vision for a front-facing pool and living area that captures the northern light and panoramic outlook. A series of cascading spaces connect seamlessly from indoor living zones to the suspended infinity pool, redefining the traditional suburban layout.
Curves that connect
Flow and form converge through the architecture’s curved lines, from the fluted joinery and arched glazing to the rounded ceiling details that soften the structure’s contemporary edge.
Skheme’s Parq Dune tiles ground the bathrooms with their softly undulated matt finish and warm, organic tone, while Aspley Pearl tiles add gentle structure and luminosity across the walls
In the ensuite, Parq Pearl continues this theme, creating a serene retreat that mirrors the home’s overall calm and airy sensibility.
Material warmth, Contemporary calm
Natural textures and a refined palette underpin the interior aesthetic, with oak flooring, wool carpeting, and limestone accents softening the home’s sculptural geometry.
These gestures are carried outdoors, where the Aspley Greige grip tiles and pavers tie the alfresco kitchen, dining, and pool surrounds together in cohesive warmth.
The palette transitions seamlessly from inside to out, celebrating the interplay of texture, tone, and light.
